Description

Dating from the finest Early Stereo era of Columbia Record Production, this Disk, still sealed in un-opened inner plastic sleeve, offers a magisterial Chopin recital by that other phenomenal Russian-Jewish-French wunderkind: the eminent Alexander Brailowsky. Recording extensively in the Romantic piano repertoire for Columbia in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, Brailowsky was a consummate keyboard artist displaying an astounding, beguiling array of tone colors. A star pupil in the conservatories of Kiev and Paris, Brailowsky also studied privately with Busoni--no less! This rare, Still Sealed, Original Columbia Stereo disk (1964) offers nuanced, searching accounts of Chopin's Tarantelle, Berceuse, Andante Spianato, and the awesome Sonata in B-Minor. Album Still Sealed in Inner, Perforated Plastic Sleeve. First Edition and Early Pressings (2F, Side 1, 2C, Side 2). Disk Presumed Pristine. Jacket rates to Near-Mint due to slight abrasion of titling on front face--otherwise perfect. Not a Cut Out. All seams firmly intact. Awesome, resplendent pianism throughout.
