This auction is for two (2) Time Life Record Sets that focus on The Early Twentieth Century. The Concerts Of Great Music Anthology that comes with five (5) LP's, a 40-page booklet and the "Improvisation" painting by Wassily Kandinsky on the cover of the purple slipcase. It contains many classic orchestral movements like the Pulcinella Suite by Igor Stravinsky, I Got Rhythm by George Gershwin, Suite Francaise by Darius Milhaud and many others. I am also including the Story of Great Music four (4) Record Set that comes with a 60+ booklet that has full-color photos and artwork from the early 20th century and articles from the era. There is also a 30-page A Listener's Guide To The Recordings booklet that goes into great detail about each of the symphonic works. The slipcase has a painting of The Fireball by Marc Chagall and has great works like the Verklarte Nacht by Arnold Schoenberg, Piano Concerto No. 3 by Sergei Prokofiev and many others. The Story Of Great Music Set was released in 1967 while the Concerts Of Great Music Set was released in 1968. The LP's are in excellent condition but the slipcases have damage on the bottom edges and all have been kept in a smoke-free home.
